The IKEA Group believes that safe, healthy, non-discriminatory working conditions and the protection of the environment at our suppliers are prerequisites for doing good business. Our code of conduct defines what suppliers can expect from the IKEA Group and what the IKEA Group requires from its suppliers in terms of legal requirements, working conditions, the active prevention of child labour, environment and forestry management.

This area is related to climate change. IKEA must recuce carbon dioxide emissions caused by our operations. This include issues such as heating and cooling, electricity and transportation of IKEA products. The IKEA Group has decided to improve the overall energy consumption by 25% and long-term all IKEA buildings shall use renewable energy for electricity and heating.

The IKEA Group participates in a wide range of activities and projects on an international, national and local basis. By co-operating with carefully selected organisations that are regarded as specialists in their field, we are able to support projects designed to meet local community needs. On a global level, we collaborate with UNICEF, Save the Children, and WWF on activities and projects that focus on children and women and the protection of the environment for example in the areas of forestry, cotton and climate change.
